Tourism of Switzerland on rise

In spite of the loses, as reported earlier, there appears to be an increase in the tourism industry of the Switzerland, that is getting benefits because of the protests and airport strikes in Europe.

Though a decrease in the number of the European tourists, the Swiss tourism has benefited much as it has observed a great increase in the number of tourists from Asia. For the first half of the year, there was a rise of 16% in Asian tourists and 32% only in the month of June.

When compared with the last year, the Switzerland’s hotel industry has seen a growth in the first six months of year with 2.1%. From January to June, there were nearly 17.5 million overnight stays.

Earlier it was reported that the Swiss tourism will suffer for another 2 years due to the rise in the Swiss Franc and the economic conditions. But it appears to be benefiting from the last two months because of the strikes and protests in places like England, France, Greece, and Spain, which are making the tourists to head towards Switzerland, which has became a great substitute for the tourists who desire to spend holiday vacations in Europe.

It is noted that most of the tourists coming from Asia belongs to India, China and Japan. Europe and Car Hire Switzerland is working more to encourage the Indian tourists and it is expecting to get more tourists from India in the forthcoming months that would help in the decrease of its dependency on Europe.

The car hire services in Switzerland are operated by Hertz, Budget, Avis, Sixt, Alamo and Europcar.
